The Paper

The paper used to make all the liners from Recycle Together has been sourced and tested specifically for use in compostable organic waste streams.

Why Test

Many local councils collect organic food and/or garden waste from households for composting. To ensure the liners are safe to enter this type of waste, the councils require the material to be tested to a specific European standard.

Din Certo Certification

The image displayed to the right is the European Certificate of Compostability EN13432:2000 issued by Din Certo - the leading European certification organisation. This award is given after rigorous testing on the material to ensure the material composts properly, is safe to use in the composting process and will not harm the environment!

Although this image is required by many local councils before they allow any bin liner into the compostable waste stream, we still advise asking your local council before using these liners just to make sure they can be included.

Recycled

Our supplier Recycle Together Ltd is always try to source recycled paper to make their compostable liners. Currently the Alina Small and Alina Medium are from sustainable forest sources but we are confident that a suitable recycled paper will be available soon. The Large Sack and Extra Large Sack are made using 100% recycled paper, recovered from British waste streams!

Increased Strength

The Alina Medium, Alina Large and Extra Large Sack are made using 2 ply paper - two layers of paper are used instead of one. This double layer gives added stability, added strength and makes the sacks resistant to punctures, whilst still being easy to handle and light-weight!

In The Garden

Use our compostable liners in your garden to collect compostable garden waste for your home compost heap! These liners are sturdy and strong - great for transporting compostable waste!

Take your compostable waste to your home compost heap or a community composting facility (usually attached to your local recycling centre) and discard the liner with its contents!

For home composting empty the contents on to the heap and rip up the liner before also adding it to the heap - adding the paper liner will provide valuable 'browns' to the mix, help stablise moisture content and improve air flow!
